I can't tell you how excited I am about the Mandarin Meetup, surrounding by a group that everyone are interested in Chinese and Chinese culture, that everyone is so passionate about learning and practicing. Most of all, we all made new friends at end of the event!
A group with 7 to 20 people from beginner to advanced learners were a great mix every time. Everyone found their own language partners to not only practice language, but also talked about their own interesting experience with China. Some of them has interested Chinese family history, some of them stayed in China for over 5 years, and some of them visited the same cities in China.
Language Cards with different themes got really good reviews. 朋友(Friends) and 旅游(travel) are our first and second week themes. We learned some interesting idioms that related to historical histories-- 桃园结义（the oath of brotherhood in peach garden), some phrases that reflects Chinese classical philosophic concept-- 回归自然（return to the nature ）, and last but not least, the meaning and transformation of characters.
